R3R, Cole Loftsgard win mustang challenge championship
Sept. 6, 2026 - Austin, TX: Round 3 Racing and Cole Loftsgard captured the 2026 Ford Racing Mustang Challenge Championship in the final round of the season. After a spectacular rookie season for both team and driver, Cole’s #42 car secured 7 wins and 11 podiums in 12 races. Along with 6 pole positions and several fastest laps, Cole’s point total earned him the Dark Horse class Driver Championship and earned R3R the Team Championship for the 2026 season. In all, the team secured 12 wins and 18 podiums between the #42 and the #70 car (Dark Horse Legends class).
R3R carries momentum into the 2027, as the team looks to expand to four (4) cars for next season. The team’s track record of reliability and performance bodes well for the future of the R3R Mustang Challenge program.
